A harvest dependent, naturally diverse mix of multiple apple varieties which may include unique to New Zealand varietals (eg Malus pumila 'Gala' × 'Splendour' sciros (with rootstock MM116, USPP18618P2) and others).
Always grown in a habitat of "more sun, less pollution, less pests and diseases" in Nelson's rich mineral ('Ophiolite Belt') organic soils. Certified organic [1] [2], slowdried (ie NO glyphosate accelerated drying) [3] to preserve the natural health benefits. A really robust product with no bruising and packed in handy sizes. You can also email us if you would like to purchase in bulk or use your own containers.
A natural source of rutin (0.22mg/100g Quercetin-3-0-rutinoside). Rutin has been reported to have many pharmacological properties [4]. However, it is "no longer official" as a botanical drug in the National Formulary (N.F. XIV) although it is still widely used in nonprescription pharmaceutical preparations. An interesting situation of "medicine as food" rather than "food as medicine" [5][6].
